On April 29, deputies with the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office arrested Eric Montreal Harris, 38, on a warrant issued for six counts of livestock theft. The investigation was conducted by the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry’s (LDAF) Livestock Brand Commission.
LDAF said Harris was given money by a victim to buy six head of cattle. He bought the cattle, but instead of handing them over, he allegedly sold them without the victim’s permission and kept the money. The cattle were worth about $3,400. As of May 1, the livestock have not been found.
Harris is being held in the West Feliciana Parish Jail, and no bond has been set.
