‘Gay furry pride’: I-69 construction sign flashes a different message

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Friday morning, a digital sign on Interstate 69 didn’t warn drivers of the impending construction zone; instead, it was a different kind of message.

The sign near Dupont Road read “gay furry pride,” which can be seen in the video above. Another slide flashed “uwu”, an expression used online, often in gaming or anime communities, as an emoticon depicting a cute face.

It’s unclear how the message ended up on the board, or exactly how long it was there.

“INDOT is aware of the message on the digital sign and is working to remove it,” said a spokesperson for the Indiana Department of Transportation. “Only messages related to traffic and road conditions are allowed on these signs.”

The message appeared to be gone later that morning.
