(KRON) — The San Ramon Police Department issued a shelter-in-place Thursday morning after a gas line was ruptured, according to authorities.

The gas line was ruptured by a construction crew in the area of Camino Ramon and Executive Parkway, police said at 10:30 a.m. PG&E responded to the scene to shut off the gas and evaluate the leak.

The shelter-in-place is in effect “for the local area, which includes Iron Horse Middle School,” according to SRPD. “No evacuations are recommended,” law enforcement said in an update at 10:45 a.m., “but the shelter-in-place will continue until further notice.”

The gas line is expected to be shut off until after noon, SRPD said.
