According to deputies, Gregory Goods, 56, worked as a jailer at the parish jail since April 2024. Investigators discovered he was bringing contraband, including cigarettes, drugs and cell phone cards, into the facility.
He was arrested and booked into the Livingston Parish Detention Center as a fugitive from St. Helena. He was transported to St. Helena and booked on charges of malfeasance in office, five counts of contraband taking to and from penal institution, and two counts of possession with the intent to distribute a Schedule I drug.
The sheriff’s office said more charges against Goods are possible.
