The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with the Fun Run, followed by the 5K at 8:00 a.m. Organized as a school fundraiser, proceeds will support technology upgrades, professional development, and various needs for students and staff.
“This is a great way to come together as a community while helping our school grow,” said Mr. Tim, an ELA teacher at Elm Grove. “We already have about 120 people signed up, and we’re hoping to raise between $5,000 and $6,000.”
Participants will follow a scenic route that begins near the new park area in front of the Brookshire Grocery Arena, crosses over the Teague Parkway bridge, and loops back near the Shreveport parks bridge. While the event centers around the race, attendees can also enjoy food, refreshments, and a family-friendly atmosphere full of fun and fellowship.
Registration is open now at runsignup.com by searching “Great Gator 5K and Fun Run,” or by scanning the QR code on the flyer. Those unable to attend can still show support through the “Lazy Gator” option — a direct donation to the school.
