Ruiz’s three RBIs, complete game lifts Riverside Academy past Ascension Catholic
DONALDSON, LA. – No. 11 Riverside Academy upset No. 6 Ascension Catholic 6-2 to move on.
Jayce Ruiz dominated for the Rebels. He pitched a complete game, only allowed two earned runs and had eight strikeouts. At the plate he had three RBIs, including a tone-setting home run in the fourth inning to give his team a 5-0 lead, which ultimately led the Rebels to the win.
The Rebels will face the No. 3 Opelousas/No. 14 Sacred Heart winner in the quarterfinals.
