Jose Rendon, of Crest Hill, has been charged with four counts of unauthorized video recording and live video transmission.
On July 25, the Joliet Police Department said they were notified by a woman that she had found a video recording device hidden in her bedroom.
According to police, officers determined that Rendon, her past boyfriend, owned the device and had allegedly recorded the woman without her consent.
Detectives interviewed Rendon as part of their investigation, who then confirmed that he recorded the victim without her consent.
An arrest warrant was obtained by detectives on Monday. Rendon turned himself in to Joliet police Tuesday and he was placed into custody.
Rendon was processed and transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
