Around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, troopers with Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 were dispatched to the 3000 block of US-51 in Clinton after being told about a crash in the area.
An initial investigation showed that a 2018 Infinity Q50 driven by Hon. Michael Stacy, 68, of Kevil, was driving north on US-51 when, for unknown reasons, the car reportedly went off the road, hitting a tree.
Stacy was pronounced dead at the scene. His son, Michael “Bo” Stacy II, 30, of Cunningham, was flown out of the state to a hospital where state police said he was in stable condition.
Stacy and his son were both wearing their seatbelts, per law enforcement.
On Wednesday, the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media, asking the community to pray for Stacy’s family and healing for his son.
The deadly crash investigation remains ongoing.
