BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Louisiana State Police arrested a man on 792 counts of child exploitation.
According to the police, an investigation into the possession of child sexual abuse material was conducted in December 2024.
During the investigation, the LSP Special Victims Unit received a cybertip related to the sexual exploitation of minors. The tip included information about a social media account with multiple child sexual abuse material (CSAM). A search warrant was obtained for the account and identified the account holder as Matthew Corkern, 35, of Sorrento.
On April 25, investigators searched Corkern’s home, where he was arrested and booked into the Ascension Parish Jail on 62 counts of pornography involving juveniles. Days later, investigators found 730 images and videos of CSAM on Corkern’s cell phone. He was charged with an additional 730 counts of possession of pornography involving juveniles.
This is an ongoing investigation.
