La 119 bridge in Gorum closed for repairs over Bayou Pierre

Gorum, La. (WNTZ) — The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) has announced an emergency bridge closure on LA 119 over Bayou Pierre in Gorum, located in Natchitoches Parish.

Bridge #083501180205661, at milepost 5.726 approximately 5.89 miles north of LA 8, will remain closed to all traffic until further notice. DOTD officials have placed concrete barriers at the site to prevent passage.

Drivers are advised to follow designated detour routes. Northbound traffic will detour from LA 119 to LA 8 westbound, then to Interstate 49 northbound, and back to LA 119. Southbound traffic will detour from LA 119 northbound to I-49 southbound, then to LA 8 eastbound, and back to LA 119.
