The injury happened after Butler took a hard fall in the first quarter of Game 2 in Houston — a game the Warriors lost.
Charania says that Butler is “doing everything possible to try to play tonight.” The Warriors are “optimistic” Butler will play Monday, Charania reports.
Butler was a full participant in Monday’s shootaround.
The ESPN report comes after the Warriors, on Sunday, listed Butler as “questionable” in the team’s official Game 4 injury report.
Golden State is coming off a 104-93 home victory in Game 3 over the Rockets on Saturday night at Chase Center. The Warriors currently have a 2-1 series lead.
Since acquiring Butler in February’s trade deadline, the Warriors have gone 25-9 with him in the lineup. Butler helped the Warriors in their Game 1 victory by logging a team-high 42 minutes and scoring 25 points in support of Stephen Curry’s 31.
