UDOT said I-15 between 200 North and Park Lane will be closed in both directions overnight Monday, April 28, through Thursday, May 1, from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., as well as Friday, May 2, from 10 p.m. to 10 a.m.
Crews have five more beams that they need to place on the new bridge at Shepard Lane, UDOT said. All traffic during closures will be detoured to U.S. Highway 89 and Main Street in Kaysville.
“Drivers should plan for heavy travel delays in the area during the closures. Nearby residents may experience increased noise, dust, truck traffic and vibration throughout this work,” UDOT said in a press release.
The new interchange at Shepard Lane is intended to reduce congestion and improve safety in the area, UDOT said. It is set to cross over the Union Pacific Railroad and Utah Transit Authority tracks to create another connection to local roads. It is also meant to improve pedestrian and bike connectivity along Park Lane, and the frames associated with I-15, US-89, and Legacy Parkway (SR-67).
The new interchange is expected to open in late 2026.
UDOT said to keep in mind that construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change. Visit the UDOT Traffic Website or download the UDOT traffic app for updates.
