By rssfeeds-admin AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (WNTZ) — The Avoyelles Parish Police Jury announced that S and B Cutoff Road, located between Simmesport and Bordelonville, will be closed beginning Tuesday morning due to high water conditions.
Officials said the road will remain closed until water levels recede and the roadway dries sufficiently to safely reopen. Drivers are urged to plan accordingly and use alternate routes.
The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office (APSO) plans to capture aerial video footage of the affected area Tuesday morning to better assess the situation and provide updates to the community.
Authorities are reminding motorists never to drive through flooded roadways and to exercise caution in areas affected by rising water.
