The team has announced the Niners will be extending Kittle’s contract for four more years. According to “Bussin’ With The Boys”, the six-time Pro Bowl pick’s four-year contract totals $76.4 million overall with $40 million guaranteed. This would make Kittle the highest-paid tight end in the NFL.
The team’s General Manager, John Lynch, explained that in drafting Kittle eight years ago, he a high hopes for the “skinny tight end from Iowa.” However, Kittle has exceeded expectations as a 49er and a person. Lynch called Kittle “one of the best tight ends in the NFL.”
“George’s leadership, enthusiasm for the game, for his teammates, and the Faithful are truly unique and special,” said Lynch. “He is an outstanding representation for the 49ers on the field and is an outstanding representative for the organization off the field with his investment in the local and military communities.”
Kittle has shattered 49er history; he holds the team’s record for the most receptions and receiving yards by a tight end. He has also reached the 1,000-yard mark in four career seasons.
