Tracking dogs training exercise underway in Breezy Hill area

BREEZY HILL, La. (WNTZ) – Residents in the Breezy Hill and John’s Hill areas may notice an increased presence of emergency vehicles over the next few days, but local authorities say there is no cause for concern.

The Louisiana Department of Corrections is conducting its annual training exercise for tracking dogs along Highway 123. The training is scheduled to continue for the next three days.

Officials emphasize that the presence of emergency vehicles and personnel is part of a controlled training environment and does not indicate any actual emergency.

Tracking dogs play a crucial role in law enforcement operations. These highly trained canines assist in locating missing persons, apprehending suspects, and searching for evidence.
