EBRSO investigating homicide after man found dead in backyard

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office (EBRSO) responded to a call about a man who was found dead in a backyard from a possible gunshot wound on Sunday, April 27.

EBRSO responded just before 6:50 p.m. to the 5800 block of Kilona Drive, not far from Lanier Drive. The sheriff’s office said it is investigating the shooting as a homicide.

EMS confirmed that the incident was a coroner’s case and that first responders had been canceled before arriving at the scene.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office said they responded around 7 p.m.

The coroner’s office confirmed it is working to locate and notify the victim’s family.

The investigation is ongoing. More information will be shared as it becomes available.
