FOXBOROUGH (WGNO) – The New England Patriots selected LSU defensive end Bradyn Swinson with the eighth pick (146th overall) in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Swinson ended his college career with a breakout season in 2024. The Georgia native had career-highs across the board. His 58 total tackles, 13 tackles for losses, 8.5 sacks and two forced fumbles were all his best numbers in each category collegiately.
The edge rusher will have a chance at immediate impact. The Patriots were dead last in the NFL last season in sacks: finishing with only 28 as a team.
The Bayou Bengal will join fellow 2025 draftee Will Campbell and former Tigers Kayshon Boutte and Jaquelin Roy in New England.
