Person possibly hit by BART train; Fremont station closed

(KRON) — The Warm Springs BART station in Fremont is closed after a person is suspected to have been hit by a train after stepping onto the station tracks.

A person is suffering a “major medical emergency” from the incident, BART officials say. BART Police are on scene investigating.

“BART officials are learning an individual may have entered onto the trackway and a train may have struck that person,” a BART spokesperson told KRON4.

A single track is operating between the Warm Spring and Milpitas stations. AC Transit bus number 217 is also available during the closure.

KRON 4 will update this story when more information is available.
