Lafayette man arrested, charged with attempted murder in April 10 car shooting

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — A Lafayette man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with an April 10 shooting, authorities said.

Terrick Francis, 19, of Lafayette, is charged with three counts of attempted first degree murder and one count of illegal use of weapons.

Lafayette Police responded April 10 to the 400 block of North Buchanan Street to a report of a shooting in progress, where officers found an vehicle with several bullet holes, officials said.

The three occupants, the targets of the shooting, had already exited the vehicle and had sustained no injuries, authorities said.

Francis was arrested at 8:36 p.m. Thursday and booked into the Lafayette Parish Jail on $950,000 bond.
