Riley Francis, 6-year-old Lafayette girl shot in August, has died

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Riley Francis, the 6-year-old girl who was shot in Lafayette Aug. 24, has died, authorities have confirmed.

The girl had been in critical condition in a Baton Rouge hospital since the shooting.

Four men who have been arrested in connection with the shooting, Rickey Chaney, Daylon Andrus, Ja Andrea Kentrell Willis and Kimmy Ray Dauntain Jr., who were all charged with attempted second-degree murder, will have those charges upgraded to second-degree murder, according to Lafayette Police.

Francis was shot the evening of Aug. 24 in the 500 block of Saucier Parkway. A GoFundMe account has been set up on behalf of the family.
