Police warn of diversion-style burglaries in NE Philly

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — Philadelphia Police are warning residents about a pair of thieves, pretending to be utility workers and targeting elderly residents in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say the suspects allegedly stole more than $200,000 from four homes throughout the past month.

The thieves would allegedly knock on the person’s door and inform them that they were working on their fence or doing electrical work. Once the person was distracted, one of the thieves would break in and steal valuable items.

The thefts occurred at:

  • 3900 Fairdale Avenue
  • 1900 Fulmer Street
  • 11000 Block of Knights Road
  • 7200 Block of Bradford Street

At this time, no arrests have been made.
