Kitchen fire causes damage to mobile home in Scott

SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — A residential fire in Scott caused moderate damage to the home after a pot caught fire in the kitchen.

Earlier today, around 7 p.m. Scott Fire Department was dispatched to a residential fire reported at 2900 West Willow Street, in the Acadian Villa Estates Mobile Home Park.

Fire officials said upon arrival, they encountered smoke emitting from the residence. Officials said the fire was located in the kitchen of the residence and was quickly put out before it could further spread throughout the residence.

According to officials, the fire originated as a result of an unattended pot while cooking.

The kitchen sustained moderate fire damage, with the rest of the residence impacted primarily by smoke damage. No injuries were reported during the incident
