Two dogs die in Monday morning Scott mobile home fire

SCOTT, La. (KLFY) — Two dogs died in a residential fire in Scott this morning, authorities said.

The Scott Fire Department responded at about 3 a.m. Monday to a report of a residential fire in the 200 block of Fenetre Road. Responding firefighters saw flames coming from multiple windows of the residence. The occupant told firefighters that the structure was unoccupied, officials said.

The fire was brought under control within approximately 20 minutes, but two dogs inside the residence were unable to escape, officials said.

The residence sustained significant fire damage throughout, rendering it a complete loss, authorities said.

Units from Lafayette, Duson and Judice provided assistance. No firefighters or civilians were injured during the incident, officials said.

The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
