Cotter High School Wind Ensemble shows best performance since 2018

The Cotter High School Wind Ensemble recently achieved their highest score at a state level contest since 2018 at the recent Arkansas School Band and Orchestra Association 2a State Concert Contest.

Under the direction of Douglas Messick, the band traveled to Jonesboro High School for the competition where they achieved 6th place of the 12 bands competing and ended with a score of 74.20. This is the first time the program has had an ensemble qualify for the State Concert Contest and the first time since 2023 the program has qualified for any state level contest. A panel of three judges gave the ensemble an “Excellent” division rating for their performance.
