IOWA, La. (KLFY) — Motorists heading west on I-10 in Jeff Davis Parish will have to take a detour soon, according to the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development.
I-10 westbound at U.S. 165 (Exit 44 to Kinder) will be fully closed to traffic starting Monday, May 5.
The closure is necessary for work crews to build the new I-10 westbound bridge, travel lanes, exit ramp and on-ramp, according to DOTD.
Motorists are advised to detour using La. 101, then traveling north to U.S. 165, or by using La. 101, then traveling south to U.S. 90, and then west to U.S. 165.
The closure is expected to remain in place through February 2026, DOTD said.
