Road closures and parking information for Festival International de Louisiane

LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) — Festival International de Louisiane, one of the biggest annual events in Acadiana, takes over downtown Lafayette this week.

Lafayette Consolidated Government has released its list of road closures and other information for those heading downtown for the festivities.

Street Closures:

  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – Effective Monday, April 21-Sunday, April 27:
    • Lee Avenue: Jefferson Street to Convent Street (FIL Volunteer Center Tent will be present)
    • Main Street: Jefferson Street to Lee Avenue (FIL Merchandise Tent will be present)
  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – Thursday-Monday:
    • Lafayette Street: Vermilion Street to Rue Bibliotheque (Stage setup)

    • Vermilion Street: Buchanan Street to Lafayette Street (Arts & crafts tents)
  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – Wednesday-Monday:

  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – Thursday-Sunday:
    • Congress Street: Rue Bibliotheque to Buchanan Street (Police Command Center)
  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – Wednesday-Monday (starting at 6 a.m. Wednesday):
    • Congress Street: Polk Street to Taylor Street (FIL Merchandise Tent)
  • One-Way Traffic – 5 p.m. Thursday-10 p.m. Sunday:
    • Lee Street: Convent Street to Garfield Street (Eastbound direction only)
  • Partial Closure – 8 a.m. Thursday-10 p.m. Sunday:
    • Lee Street: Convent Street to Garfield Street (One lane barricaded, no vehicle traffic)
  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – Thursday-Sunday:
    • Lee Street: Garfield Street to Cypress Street
  • Full Closure (No Thru Traffic) – During Event Hours Only:
    • Jefferson Street: Lee Street to Main Street (Wednesday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Jefferson Street: Main Street to Garfield Street (Wednesday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Garfield Street: Buchanan Street to Lee Avenue (Wednesday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Congress Street: Jefferson Street to Taylor Street (Wednesday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Vermilion Street: Lee Street to Jefferson Street (Wednesday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Vermilion Street: Jefferson Street to Buchanan Street (Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Vermilion Street: Lafayette Street to St. John Street (Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Buchanan Street: Vermilion Street to Congress Street (Thursday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)
    • Lafayette Street & Rue Bibliotheque: Vermilion Street to Congress Street (Thursday-Friday starting at 5 p.m.; All day Saturday and Sunday)

No Parking Zones (Meters will be bagged):

  • Monday, April 21-Sunday, April 27:
    • Jefferson Street: Lee Avenue to Main Street
  • Thursday-Sunday (During event hours):
    • Jefferson Street: Main Street to Vermilion Street (after 5 p.m.)
    • Buchanan Street: Congress Street to Central Street
    • Rue Bibliotheque from Congress to Central Street
    • West Congress from Second to Buchanan Street
    • Taylor Street: Garfield Street to Vermilion Street
    • Lee Avenue: University Avenue to Jefferson Street
    • Barry Street: Lee Avenue to Lafayette Street (during event hours)
  • Friday-Sunday:
    • Jefferson Street: Vermilion Street to Cypress Street
  • Wednesday-Sunday:
    • Lee Avenue: Jefferson Street to Garfield Street

Parking Garage Information:

  • Pare Auto du Centreville: Closed to the public from Thursday to Sunday (Starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday). Access available to regular permit holders and FIL permit holders ONLY.
  • Buchanan Street Garage: 1st and 2nd Floors closed to the public from Thursday-Sunday (Starting at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday, all day Saturday and Sunday). Upper Levels remain open to regular permit holders, FIL permit holders, and the general public.

LCG encourages attendees to utilize the provided shuttle service and plan their travel accordingly. Parking and shuttle is available at the UL Health Science Campus Parking Garages 
located at 601 W. St. Mary Blvd. and 411 St. Landry St. The shuttle runs every 15 minutes. $15 per car entry – CREDIT /DEBIT CARDS ONLY.
