The woman inside, later identified as Sandra Moore, 44, of Virginia, was declared dead at the scene by the Harlan County Coroner.

After further investigation, KSP said earlier that morning she was involved in a fight with her nephew, David Stoneburner, 29, at their home in Virginia. Troopers didn’t specify how Moore died but did confirm the fight ultimately led to her death.

KSP said that after the dispute, the evidence suggested that Stoneburner placed Moore’s body in her vehicle and drove to Kentucky, where he allegedly set the vehicle on fire and sent it crashing over the mountain embankment.
