Belvidere man charged with sexual assault and domestic violence

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WTVO) — Omar Hernandez, 44, has been charged with five counts of Criminal Sexual Assault, two counts of Aggravated Domestic Battery, and Unlawful Restraint.

According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday, April 19th, at 2 a.m., deputies were called to the 2000 block of Davis Drive for a woman in “medical distress.”

The woman made numerous allegations against Hernandez before she was transported to UW Health SwedishAmerican.

A search warrant took place at a residence in Belvidere, which resulted in Hernandez’ arrest, police said.
