The California Highway Patrol Safe Streets Task Force officers noticed a license plateless gray Pontiac Grand Prix near International Boulevard and 64th Avenue around 10 p.m. on April 11. CHP officers pulled over the sedan, which had two occupants.
The driver, according to CHP, was on active parole for assault with a deadly weapon. According to authorities, he also had “multiple different types of illegal narcotics” on his person.
CHP officers said they saw more “apparent illegal narcotics” and a loaded firearm in the right front passenger’s open jacket.
The duo was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail for multiple charges, including: felon in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of narcotics for sale, possession of controlled substances, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
