Officers arrived and located the suspect vehicle in the lower level of the Macy’s parking lot. Police said a witness told them they’d seen three suspects, including one with the firearm, fleeing towards Macy’s just before officers arrived.
Officers converged on the mall and found two of the three suspects. One of those detained, a teenage boy, was identified by the victim as the person with the firearm.
K-9 officer Drako and Fairfield PD officer Brightwell conducted an article search and found a discarded BB gun in the path of the suspect’s flight.
The 17-year-old suspect was cited and released to his parents. Further disposition is pendiing, according to police.
