HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) says as flood waters recede, roadways are across the district are beginning to open on a quicker pace.
Officials note despite this, there are still roads that remain flooded. People are asked to look for traffic control signage. If anyone sees a “road closed” sign, they are asked to do the safe thing and turn around.
The KYTC notes this list is created using highway mile marker points, which are the nationwide standard to identify specific locations on state and federal roadways. Those points can be located on the KYTC general highway map.
High water signs have been placed at the following locations, as of 9:30 a.m.:
- Daviess County
- KY 279 between the 7.5-9 mile points from Audubon Parkway bridge to Jack Bosley Road
- KY 279 between the 9.8-13.7 mile points from US 60 to the Ohio River
- KY 500 between the 0.5-1 mile points at Jennings Road
- KY 500 clear at the 2.5 mile point
- KY 960 West 5th Street Road between the 0-1.9 mile points, entire length
- KY 1554 between the 3.5-4.6 along Katie Meadow Slough
