BENTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Kentucky man is on the run after being accused of killing Lia Thompson last month in Marshall County.
Kentucky State Police announced Friday afternoon that an arrest warrant was issued for Claude Russell, 48, of Cadiz, in connection with the killing of Thompson. Shortly after 2 p.m., KSP announced that Russell turned himself in at the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office.
An indictment revealed that Russell allegedly cut Thompson’s throat on or around March 19.
KSP previously announced that her death was believed to be a “targeted incident” and that there was no general threat to the public.
Following his indictment on Thursday, April 17, Russell was formally charged with murder, according to KSP.
He was booked into the Marshall County jail and is being held without bond.
