A woman facing charges stemming from the theft of a truck belonging to her father appeared in Baxter County Circuit Court April 7.

Thirty-two-year-old Jessica Raygan Hughes and a man listed as her boyfriend, 30-year-old Tyler Sutterfield, were both charged with stealing the 1996 Ford F-150 extended cab pickup truck.

Hughes pled guilty to the charges against her, including theft of property, and was sentenced to four years probation.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Sutterfield and Hughes went to her parents’ home in Clarkridge on October 7, 2024, and told her mother that the father, who was away from home at the time, had allowed them to use the truck.

The father told investigators he had not given permission to the couple to take his truck. He said he reached out to his daughter and Sutterfield to return the vehicle, but they would not communicate with him.

The truck was listed as stolen. It was picked up by a license plate reader next to Anstaff Bank on U.S. Highway 62 West on October 18.

Mountain Home police responded and held the vehicle in the bank parking lot. Sutterfield and Hughes were both arrested initially on outstanding warrants issued by the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office.

Illegal narcotics and a handgun were found in their possession.

The truck was returned to the owner.

Sutterfield is currently serving a six-year sentence in state prison. He pled guilty to charges in three cases, including being involved with Hughes in stealing the pickup truck, in early November last year.
