According to court documents, 33-year-old Adrian Stigger was found guilty by a jury of three counts of child molesting, each a Level 1 felony, and two counts of child molesting, each a Level 4 felony. Stigger’s sentencing is scheduled for May 2 in Marion County.
In February 2022, the mother of an 11-year-old reported to the Indiana State Police that her daughter had been molested by her former boyfriend, later identified as Stigger.
In an interview with the 11-year-old at the time, she reportedly told police that Stigger touched her inappropriately and forced her to perform sexual acts on multiple occasions, including times in Indiana and when they lived in Florida.
During a specific instance that reportedly occurred in a home in Speedway, the girl told law enforcement that Stigger told her to “not tell her mom” after the sexual acts occurred “because he would get in trouble.”
The mother told police Stigger reportedly first molested her daughter in March 2020. The mother brought it up to Stigger, who then told her he had stopped.
The mother said in an interview that she was “persistent and kept asking her daughter if anything sexual was going on between them.” The documents said the daughter initially said no, but later told her mother that “Stigger had repeatedly molested her” but was “scared to tell anyone” about the incidents.
A person who is convicted of a Level 1 felony could be sentenced to between 20 and 40 years in prison, as well as up to a $10,000 fine. A Level 4 felony carries a sentence range of two to 12 years in prison.
