BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a fatal crash that left a 12-year-old dead.
According to BRPD, on April 9, officers were called to the 3900 block of Blount Road regarding a crash between a Kia Soul and an ATV.
During the investigation, officers learned the Kia was heading west on Blount Road, approaching Cypress Glen Avenue, when the ATV failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by the Kia. Both occupants of the ATV were ejected.
The occupants of the Kia Soul were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the ATV, identified as Jayce Wright, 12, was pronounced dead by medical staff.
