PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — The Oregon Zoo’s newest elephant made her first public appearance outdoors on Tuesday.
Tula-Tu, the 400-pound baby elephant, celebrated her 2-and-a-half-month birthday by galavanting outside in front of spectators for the first time.
While she has been outdoors before, it was the first time zoo spectators got a chance to see Tula-Tu outside of her indoor habitat.
Oregon Zoo officials say that Tula-Tu will likely be outside more frequently now that the weather is warming up.
