Man shot multiple times while walking dog on Chicago’s West Side

CHICAGO — A man was shot multiple times while walking his dog on the city’s West Side.

The shooting happened around 1:37 a.m. Wednesday on the 3100 block of West Lexington Street in Garfield Park.

Police said a 38-year-old man was walking his dog when he was approached on foot by another man who took out a gun and opened fire on the victim.

The 38-year-old sustained multiple gunshot wounds about the body, according to police.

The victim self-transported to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition. Police said the offender fled the scene.

No one is in custody. Area Four Detectives are investigating.
