2 arrested in Coleman for stealing from storage units, meth possession

SAN ANGELO, Texas (Concho Valley Homepage) — Two people were arrested in Coleman on April 12 after law enforcement seized property suspected of being stolen from storage units as well as methamphetamine.

According to the Coleman Police Department, an officer on patrol noticed suspicious activity at the ABC Storage Units in the 1200 block of South Concho Street at 4:30 a.m. on April 12. The officer made contact with two suspects at the scene, who were later identified as 36-year-old Bradley Horton and 46-year-old Gayla Carlisle, both of whom are of Runnels County.

While investigating why the suspects were at the storage units, the officer “noticed locks cut off two of the storage units,” one of which “was lying near the suspect’s vehicle.” The officer then requested another officer and K-9 Rino to his location.

Rino would alert on the suspect vehicle, leading law enforcement to seize “a quantity” of meth and “property believed to be stolen from the storage units.” The suspects were also “found to be in possession of multiple tools including at least two pair of bolt cutters.”

The department stated that Horton and Carlisle were arrested and transported to the Coleman County Jail on charges of burglary of a building and possession of a controlled substance. Horton was also held on a warrant for parole violation and a Runnels County warrant for criminal trespass.

Horton and Carlisle are held on bonds of $15,000 each in the Coleman County Jail as of the time of publication.
