Skeletal remains found by man while hiking with son in Rowan County

ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — An investigation is underway in Rowan County after a hiker and his son found skeletal remains Sunday evening.

In a Facebook post, the Rowan County Coroner’s Office said the remains were found around 7 p.m. on Trent Ridge.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Kentucky State Police, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, and the coroner’s office canvassed the area for additional evidence, according to the post.

Coroner John Northcutt confirmed the remains were human, and they have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office to be identified.
