Louisiana regular legislative session starts Monday

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Lawmakers are set to return to the Louisiana State Capitol for Monday’s start of this year’s regular legislative session.

The session convenes at noon Monday and is scheduled to adjourn by 6 p.m. Thursday, June 12.

Priorities for lawmakers in this year’s regular session include addressing the insurance crisis to lower rates, the state budget and teacher pay raises after Amendment 2 failed

in the March election.
