Three minors hurt after car hits tree in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WHLT) – Three minors were injured after a vehicle struck a tree in Jones County.

Officials with the Jones County Fire Council said the crash occurred in the 100 block of Wadsworth Road just before 6:45 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered that the impact of the crash had separated the engine from the car. Officials said three minors were in the vehicle at the time of the crash. Two of them were entrapped, and officials said a back seat passenger had been ejected from the vehicle.

Firefighters extricated the two entrapped individuals. The three victims were transported to area hospitals. Officials said they appeared to have serious to critical injuries.

Jones County deputies also responded to the scene.
