There is a giant sinkhole on Denver Street. Small trees could be seen growing in the hole. Multiple pipes are exposed with water flowing from them.
The City of Jackson said they’re aware of the road hazard, but they said it’s a JXN Water issue.
“This pothole should have been fixed years ago. We have kids around. They can ride down on their bicycle and fall down in this pothole. It is dangerous around here. They will fall into this big ole hole. They don’t have any barriers around here, no streetlights really,” said one neighbor.
The city’s infrastructure department said they’re waiting to hear back from JXN Water about the issue.
WJTV 12 News reached out to JXN Water. Officials said JXN Water received paperwork that verified they had completed the sewer work two years ago. They said the storm drain needs to be repaired, which is the City of Jackson’s responsibility.
