JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mayor of Jackson’s Office addressed the delays in the repairs to Denver Street.

According to the Mayor’s Office, they investigated the ongoing pothole issue on Denver Street and determined that the cause is a persistent water leak originating from a nearby apartment complex. They said Public Works crews are unable to fully repair the street until the leak has been resolved.

“We understand how frustrating street problems can be for our residents, and we want to be transparent about the reason for this delay,” said a spokesperson for the Mayor’s Office. “The property owners must fix the water leak to ensure our repair work is effective and long-lasting.”

The city said they’re reaching out to the apartment management to expedite repairs to the leak. Once addressed, Public Works will make repairs to Denver Street.
