AMG Critical Materials N.V. recently announced that its management board has approved an investment of $15 million in order to establish an aluminothermic production facility, which will be utilized to manufacture chrome metal in the United States.
The new facility is going to be constructed in New Castle, Pa. and will be situated right next door to AMG Titanium’s facility.
According to a spokesperson with AMG, construction on the facility has begun and initially the facility will boast 40,000 square feet of space, with scope to expand in the future. The company expects to initially create 25 new jobs with the new plant.
Once constructed, the facility will have an annual capacity of up to 6,500 tons.
The company expects the new chrome metal manufacturing facility to debut in the first quarter of 2026.
