Man charged with carjacking Pennsylvania veteran, stealing dog

WESTMORELAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – A man has been charged for allegedly stealing a car and dog belonging to a veteran in Pennsylvania last year.

The Westmoreland County District Attorney’s office says Kenneth Crider “forcibly stole the victim’s truck keys from his pocket” on September 23, 2024, at an East Huntingdon Township Tractor Supply.

The victim’s dog was inside the car but has not been recovered.

The District Attorney’s Office says Crider, of western Maryland, was also allegedly involved in a Pennsylvania State Police chase, leading to additional charges.

Officials arrested Crider in North Carolina last year, and he was recently extradited to Pennsylvania.

Crider is facing charges including robbery, theft, and fleeing police. He’s being held at the Westmoreland County Prison on $100,000 bail.
