According to Chicago police, 37-year-old Robert Norris, a Garfield Park resident, and 28-year-old Tyrin Norris, a West Town resident, have each been charged with one felony count of attempted first-degree murder.
Robert Norris is also facing two additional narcotics charges, police said.
Authorities said the charges stem from the duo’s alleged involvement in a shooting that unfolded in the 700 block of South Springfield Avenue, in Garfield Park, just before 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 2.
Officers said the victim, a 26-year-old man, was driving in the area when a gunman allegedly opened fire on his car as he made his way down the road.
Following the shooting, the shooters fled the scene.
Officers said the victim suffered gunshot wounds to his back and hip and was later taken to the hospital in good condition. Officers later said the victim suffered critical injuries in the shooting.
The duo evaded capture for more than a month, but authorities eventually caught up with both men and took them into custody on Tuesday. Both appeared in Court on Wednesday for a detention hearing.
Authorities have not provided an update on the victim’s condition.
