One of the newest orders was issued Monday for a portion of the Cherokee Village Water Association in Fulton and Sharp counties. The order is affecting customers between Hulapi Drive and Skyline Drive in the city of Cherokee Village due to a pump malfunction.
Two other boil orders issued Monday morning are affecting portions of Newton County. One is for the entire Mount Sherman Water Association system due to a landslide at the Ozark Mountain Pump Station resulting in raw water being pump from its well. The East Newton County Water Association also has a boil order for its 11 services along County Roads 6422 and 6471 due to a main break.
Three other boil order remain in effect due to water line breaks. One is for the Ash Flat Water Company in Fulton and Sharp counties as it affects customers on Farris Road, Sharp Street, Little Creek Road, Oak Street and Arkansas Highway 56. Calico Rock Waterworks in Izard County continues with its order for customers from Red Lane to Caldwell Street. In Searcy and Stone counties, the West Stone County Water Association’s order remains in effect for customers in the area of Arkansas Highway 66, Old Highway 66, Oxley Road and from 758 to 13462 Arkansas Highway 74.
All affected customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
