Kidnapped woman and child found after deadly shooting at Lubbock apartment

LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Police Department said a man was arrested in Garza County after a deadly shooting and kidnapping at an apartment in South Lubbock late Monday night.

LPD said officers were called at 10:43 p.m. for shots fired in the 3800 block of 130th Street. According to police, officers found a victim inside with a gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. LPD said a woman and child were kidnapped from the apartment.

In an update sent just after 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, police said the suspect led multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase through multiple counties. The suspect crashed in Post and tried to run from the scene, however, he was arrested by the Garza County Sheriff’s Office.
