In an initial statement from his office on Monday, Congressman Norcross was said to have suffered “an emergency medical event likely related to his gallbladder.”
The congressman was admitted to UNC Rex Hospital in North Carolina on Sunday after he was traveling in North Carolina over the weekend.
After the congressman was cleared to fly, he was transferred to Cooper University Health Care in Camden City, New Jersey.
“He is in intensive care and stable. He is tired but glad to be back in South Jersey.” said a statement from his office.
The statement also said the congressman is “on the way to making a full recovery”.
“Donald wants to thank everyone who has sent well wishes and prayers to him, his staff and family. He also wants to thank again all the medical staff at both UNC Rex and Cooper University Hospital.”
