Child predator arrested in Bensalem, “No child was ever in danger during this investigation”

(WPHL)– A child predator has been arrested in Bensalem after he targeted what he thought was a 13-year-old girl on social media.

Bensalem Police say this all began on March 4 when 34-year-old Ian Evans began messaging a profile of a 13-year-old female on a social media dating app. Evans then believed he got the girl’s phone number and began texting her asking for sexual acts while sending sexually explicit photographs of himself.

“He stated his intentions to meet up with the 13-year-old so that she could perform specific sexual acts with her.” said police.

These messages continued for weeks as he continued to send explicit photographs and videos of himself masturbating, depicting acts he wanted to perform with her. He also asked the girl to send naked photos of herself to him.

All along Bensalem police were behind the girl’s account luring Evans in to arrest him.

Once Evans agreed to meet the girl for a “sexual encounter” in the woods behind his place of work in Bensalem, police obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Evans was then arrested on April 4 as he left his workplace. he was charged with Sexual Abuse of Children, Unlawful Contact with a Minor, Corruption of Minors, and Criminal Use of a Communication Facility.

He is currently at the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10% of $1,000,000 bail.

Bensalem Police said, “No child was ever in danger during this investigation.”
